Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, also known as Woman 2: Terror of the Headless, is a 2024 Hindi-language comedic horror film that was co-produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films. It was written and directed by Amar Kaushik. It is a follow-up to Stree (2018) and the fifth book in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Starring in the movie are Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Aparshakti Khurana.
As early as October 2018, Kaushik expressed interest in a Stree sequel. Rao then confirmed that development was underway in February 2022, though without the original writers and producers Raj & DK, who had a falling out with producer Dinesh Vijan over the franchise’s rights and thus handed the writing reins to Bhatt.
In April 2023, Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande made the formal announcement of the sequel. The next July, principal photography got underway, and it was mostly finished in Chanderi and Bihar by mid-2024. The film has music composed by Sachin-Jigar, a soundtrack by Justin Varghese, Jishnu Bhattacharjee handling cinematography, and editing done by Hemanti Sarkar.

Story
After being shown love and respect by the people of Chanderi, Stree ceased to haunt the town one year ago. A headless ghost who kidnaps women at night and transports them across a portal into another realm is now haunting the town. Unaware of the ghost’s existence, the locals assume the ladies are moving on to pursue better futures and professional chances. Vicky, who is still madly in love with the Girl With No Name, sometimes known as “She,” misses her and imagines her walking up to him and striking up a conversation. An anonymous letter bearing shredded pages from the Chanderi Puran and the mysterious words “He Will Come” is sent to Rudra Bhaiya.
The headless ghost drags Bittu’s girlfriend Chitti away, and a witness tells everyone he saw the ghost. The headless ghost known as “Sarkata” has a past that Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra Bhaiya discover by tearing through the pages of the Chanderi Puran. They learn that Sarkata is the apparition of Chandrabhan, the former village chief who passed away a long time ago. He was a womanizer and drinker who had slain the courtesan who later became Stree with the help of his pals. Later, Stree buried Chandrabhan after chopping him to death.

Theatrical
The theatrical release of Street 2 was originally slated for August 30, 2024, globally; however, it was then postponed to debut on July 4, 2024. There were close to 3,000 paid preview night performances the day before it was released.

After its theatrical release, the movie will have its debut on Amazon Prime.
